Mumbai: Some hackers from India who have failed to get entry to Filmfare awards ceremony after multiple attempts wanted to teach the magazine management a lesson.
Nominated even before release of his movie
Not only they leaked the ‘hot’ photographs for which magazine has invested a lot, they also shared the complete list of nominations for next year’s award ceremony. One of the key observation for faking news team was, SRK’s name in the nomination list for “best actor’ category for yet to be released Dilwale.
We met Mr. Subhash Kapoor who has worked in the past in organizing awards functions for film magazines. Mr. Kapoor said, “Filmfare brand is the most reputed one in this country and it’ trophy certainly carries a lot of weight. I know, they take all the necessary steps to keep the nominations list as a closely guarded secret, very much on the lines of sahitya akademi awards.”
On our query how come someone in nominations list before movie has released, do the people associated with awards go to shooting locations to see how the actor performs. He said, “No, judging someone from shooting location is difficult. What is the guarantee that scene will make the final cut. Awards like Filmfare are grand and need proper logistics. The arrangement which includes freezing the nominations list is done well in advance.”
“As you know, our superstars other than refining their acting skills, are busy throughout the year with brand endorsements starting from pan masala to shampoo. We have to send invitation list at the earliest so that actors can book their date for the award function. Due to all these compulsions, some of the nominations are done looking at the trailer. Another advantage now a days trailers are available in YouTube, by watching the HD versions repeatedly you can easily make out how one performs,” said Mr. Kapoor.
“For me a natural performer like SRK will be nomination list for all ceremonies. Otherwise do you expect he will go to all award ceremonies like Chunky Pandey & Sanjay Kapoor goes, just to laugh at every possible joke said on stage. As such for years now award ceremonies are managing without big ones like Aamir, Sunny and Ajay, they cannot think of annoying someone like SRK,” he added.
“This year is the easiest for the jury as he is doing only one movie. My probable guess is they would not have waited for trailer. Just a call to confirm if the movie will release this year would have been good enough for the jury to keep him in nomination list. Next year he has two releases (Fan & Raees), Jury has to lot of ground work to see which categorize they can fit him for both movies,” he said.
Mr. Subhash also clarified what is there in nomination list, SRK comes means he will take something and go. We just recollected the famous line from Andaz Apna Apna movie “Aaya hoon, kuch to loot kar hi jaunga … Mogambo ka bhatija, Gogo (Filmfare editor ka dost, SRK).”
