Mumbai: PM Modi’s ambitious Digital India initiative suffered embarrassment after Google’s free WiFi service at Mumbai Central station saw most people downloading pirated copies of porn-com Kya Kool Hai Hum 3.
Western Railway authorities were left red faced after statistics related to data usage of free WiFi service were leaked to the media.
Speaking to Faking News the Chief Manager of Western Railway said, “We thought the free Wi-Fi services will be used to connect people. But we were totally wrong. As soon as the services went live the station was crowded with engineering students who started downloading Kya Kool Hai Hum 3. Not just that, Mia Khalifa and Sunny Leone videos were also top downloads for the day. We thought it would be better to temporarily shut down the services before someone came and threw ink on us for corrupting young minds.”
Sources say that frustrated techies, engineering and MBA students from as far as Pune descended on Mumbai Central station to make ‘optimum use of free WiFi’.
Congress Party was quick to corner the ruling BJP on the issue, almost mocking the PM. “I am sure that if this data was not leaked, BJP would have manipulated the numbers like they have been doing all along and said that most people used the Wi-Fi service to listen to PM’s Mann Ki Baat. The truth is out now and we will take up this issue (read disrupt Parliament) in the Budget Session,” said Congress spokesperson Sanjay Jha.
Meanwhile, AAP accused the BJP for hijacking and implementing its idea. “Ye hamara idea tha. Humne Delhi wasiyon ko free Wi-Fi dene ka vada kiya tha. Hamare ideas churake ye janta se vote maang ne wale hai. Modiji ko turant istifa de dena chahiye,” said Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, as he walked out of a multiplex in Delhi after watching Airlift.
