Kejriwal: I think all the 1,70000 Indian stuck in Kuwait could have managed it better if only they sat on dharna outside Saddam’s house. This is not victory of Akshay Kumar, this is victory of aam junta.
Digvijay Singh: I saw Rahul Gandhi in Akshay Kumar’s character. His courage, his leader ship and his aggression. I mean everything was a reflection of Rahulji. If something like this happens today I am sure Rahulji will travel to war zone to rescue his countrymen without batting an eyelid.
Mulayam Singh: This is the second movie I have watched after 20 years. It was great, except for the scene showing Indians celebrating after being rescued. That is hardly a celebration. I would have arranged a separate Saifai mahotsav to celebrate their return.
Amit Shah: Airlift shows you how Congress mismanaged the operation. Look how BJP managed operation Rahat. Only a Congress mukt bharat will ensure that such lame response by the government is never ever repeated.
Meanwhile there were reports that down south there were mixed reactions to the movie. Many were not happy that with so many South Indians stuck in Kuwait, they sent a North Indian Akshay Kumar to rescue people.
There were also reports that DMK Chief Karunanidhi went on a token 2 hour strike in the theatre to protest the atrocities on Tamils in Kuwait.
Some were of the opinion that relief material with images of Amma would have helped Saddam change his mind.
Others said, “Only if Rajnikanth had called the Iraqi leader, things would have been different. Saddam would have personally escorted all Indians back to India.”
