New Delhi. With an eye on the urban middle class, the Govt. launched its flagship program “Maid In India” to regularize the unorganized maid servants sector in India. Based on primary research that was carried out by the Ministry of Human Welfare, it was concluded that if Govt. is able to enhance availability of maids to urban class, it would have direct impact on the consumption, spending patterns and happiness quotient of the middle class. The Ministry in charge of the initiative plans to launch “Maid in India” roadshows across major metros starting next month.

The “Digital India” drive will enable develop an “App” for finding maids. The urban class could not control its happiness when they heard about this initiative. The male members were elated to an extent that they vowed that if Govt. is able to address this one problem, they will keep voting for this Govt. for next 10 years at least. One of the interviewers mentioned that he spends 20% of his net income on managing maids (their salaries, leaves, cosmetics, telephone bills, boarding and lodging expenses) and if their is a proper regulation and drive from Govt, he is willing to contribute 3% of his income as “Swacch Bharat Cess” that will help build Govt. offers. The Finance Ministry has hence revised the GDP estimates from 8% to 9% and publicized in all forms of media even before the launch of the program.
