New Delhi: Logistics Company Durgati International signed MoU with PMO to leverage on prime minister’s foreign trips. On certain days the logistics company will accept same day delivery service for international destinations. Market experts have given big thumps up and upgraded the stock to “must buy”. Within minutes of the announcement, stock has hit upper circuit in Bombay Stock Exchange.

Durgati International CEO Mr. Mahesh Agarwal spoke to us after signing the MoU. Mr. Agarwal said, “Durgati is proud to be associated with PMO. I will term this as a public-private partnership which will be win win situation for all stake holders. Sometimes our customers would want same day delivery. Logistically this is not possible as consignments needs travel through various countries, gets loaded and unloaded at different places. Then there is risk of custom clearance delays. In addition there are so many other uncertainties like bad weather, cancellation of some flights”

Mr. Agarwal added “With this agreement in place, we can send the consignments in the same flight used by our honorable Prime Minister. Please remember this will be a guaranteed service and we will accept the consignments under super premium service category. Another advantage is this will be only one time loading and unloading to flight, one can send highly fragile material as the probability of mishandling is almost negligible”

“This will open up opportunity for some companies who wants to ship perishable items which might not last more than 24 hours. The demand for such products is there whole over the world but no logistics company is ready to accept such consignments due to certain challenges as I have mentioned”, Mr. Agarwal said.

When we asked Mr. Agarwal what benefit Government (tax payers of this country) will get in return. He said, “We will pay good amount of money for using the services of Air India flights. This will help Air India to turn profitable soon. As Prime Minister does not take many journalists with him during his trip, there is a lot of space in the plane. If PMO wants, we are ready to take the responsibility of providing official files as per PM’s need. More files PM goes through, more decisions he will take which will eventually benefit the people of India”

When we asked market expert Rakesh Jhunanbala about Durgati’s future, he said, “Our PM has visited 33 countries in about a year and half. Still there are ample scope for him to travel. There are 170+ countries remaining plus some unknown islands. Do not discount the repeated trips to some countries, for few you can see it has already happened. On top of it with Rahul Gandhi leading Congress for next general election, there is very good chance Modiji will come back. Considering all these I expect a bright future for Durgati”.
