Shane Warne to do an Afridi and un-retire, aims to answer Samuels with the ball

Kolkata: Upset with the potshots taken by Marlon Samuels after the West Indies victory in World T20, Shane Warne has decided to return from retirement to answer Samuels on the field. Australia is set to take part in a tri-series in the West Indies later this summer, also featuring South Africa.

Warne vs Samuels: The Origin

Long running Warne-Samuels feud boiled over yesterday when Samuels first dedicated his Man Of The Match award to Shane Warne and then went on to criticize Shane Warne during his press conference. Earlier, Warne had ripped into Samuels while doing commentary after his soft dismissal during the semifinal against India.

“He is doing a lot of talking and since I can’t shut him up sitting in the commentators’ box, I am going to go out there on the field and do it. I have already discussed the technicalities of unretiring with Afridi and I am set to return to international cricket now. We will see whose face is real”, fumed an angry Warne.

Warne-Samuels feud started in 2013 when Warne grabbed Samuels shirt during a big bash league game and later in the game, Samuels threw his bat at Warne.

“Best Australian spinner these days is Zampa. He is a good kid but come on; you are talking about Shane Warne here. Surely I will get in the side ahead of him. I spent most of my career standing at first slip and I am still fit enough to stand and bowl from 2 yards so why not. Samuels wants to talk with the bat then I got to talk with the ball”, Warne added before returning to block people on Twitter who were quoting Samuels.

When asked about Warne’s decision, Samuels smiled and said, “Warne shouldn’t do it. His face might melt in the heat of the Caribbean.”
