Resident doctors on strike, Delhi government requests Abhishek Banerjee to perform eye transplants

New Delhi: Facing a massive shortage of doctors due to strike, which has also affected transplant procedures, Delhi government has hit upon a novel idea to tide over the crisis. If sources are to be believed, Delhi government is in talks with Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee to perform eye transplants at government run hospitals.

Speaking to Faking News, a senior official in Health Department said, “We heard Abhishek Banerjee’s speech and it seems he has some expertise in gouging eyes and cutting arms. There are around 500 patients waiting for eye transplants and the number keeps increasing. We need someone who can get the job done quickly. Most government hospitals in Delhi are facing shortage of resident doctors and Mr.Banerjee could be of immense help.”

The government is also doing its best to provide all it can to Abhishek Banerjee so that he can go about doing his job without a hitch. An assembly line has been set up outside government hospitals that will enable seamless movement of patients. Surgical tools have been provided to Mr. Banerjee and patients are being tutored to say the line ‘I oppose TMC’. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was seen personally monitoring the situation outside Safdarjung hospital.

The Delhi Government is confident that its gamble will pay off. If it indeed does, this time CM Kejriwal will have one up on his opponents given the fact that nothing in Delhi is exempt from politics. Not even medical services.
