Budget session to have Bollywood brand ambassadors to attract more MPs to Parliament

New Delhi: After promoting every Government program from Incredible India to Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Bollywood stars are all set to promote the upcoming budget session as well. As per a press release from Ministry of Parliamentary affairs, they are looking for brand ambassadors for the budget session and have zeroed in on a few Bollywood stars.

Addressing the press, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Mr Venkaiah Naidu said, “It is becoming increasingly difficult to get MPs to the Parliament and even when they come, it is very difficult to make them stay inside the house. Many Parliament sessions have been lost to adjournments and disruptions so we had to think out of the box to ensure a fruitful Parliament session.”

“These days every Government program and function has Bollywood brand ambassadors. Even Indian Navy invited Bollywood celebs as brand ambassadors special guests so we thought we should give it a try as well. We haven’t finalized the names yet but a shortlist is ready and after conducting the auditions, we will select one male and one female star.” Mr Naidu added.

The honorable minister further went on to add that budget session will have gala opening and closing ceremonies as well this time where they are trying to get Beyonce to perform. However, as per experts, Honey Singh will be the better choice for a performance in Delhi.

When someone from the press asked whether it won’t be a better idea to have an all party meeting before the session where everyone agrees to work during the budget session, Mr Naidu replied, “Of course we will have an all party meeting before the session but hoping for a constructive all party meeting is like hoping Delhi daredevils will win the IPL, not possible sir.”

When we asked whether it is not a waste of money to hire Bollywood celebs who charge a lot of money, Mr Naidu smiled and told us, “If we start thinking about waste of money then we will end up shutting down Parliament only. What silly question.”

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has reassured the public that even if Budget session gets washed out, regular excise hikes won’t be affected.
