AAP to subsidize newspaper bills of Non-Delhi residents who read their newspaper ads

New Delhi: Fed up with people questioning their wisdom to give print ads in newspapers across India, AAP has decided to subsidize the newspaper bills of those who didn’t like their print ads. The offer is valid only for Non-Delhi residents and doesn’t cover the ads in Delhi editions.

AAP Government recently completed 1 year in power in Delhi and to mark the occasion, gave 2-3 page advertisements detailing their work in leading newspapers across India.

Speaking at a press conference, Party leader Ashutosh said, “If people outside Delhi think the ads are irrelevant to them then they don’t have to pay for it. We will subsidize their bill with the same percentage as the share of our ads in the paper. If we have given 2 page advertisements in a 20 page paper then their bill will be subsidized by 10% and so on. We will create slabs similar to the ones created for electricity bill subsidy in Delhi.”

“We had good intentions when we approved these ads. Every news in Delhi is national news these days. Recently, even a light stand falling in a Delhi college was covered as national news so we obviously thought Delhi Government is also National Government and our advertisements should be published in papers across India. However, if this upsets someone’s sentiments then we would like to reimburse them for their trouble”, Mr. Ashutosh added.

Meanwhile, Facebook has clarified that they will not provide extra Candy Crush lives to those who didn’t like their Free Basics ad campaign.
