Idea to tie-up with Sprint Mobile for foreign exchange student program for IIN

Mumbai. India’s leading cellular service provider Idea Mobile’s flagship IIN school has decided to form tie-up with US mobile carrier Sprint under foreign exchange student program.

As part of this tie-up, IIN students would be able to opt for courses by Sprint. Idea spokesman said, “This program is fairly similar to how India’s other Universities and colleges have tie-up with foreign academic institutes. Selected students from IIN who have performed beyond expectations would get a chance to further upgrade their skills by going to Sprint.”

Experts have hailed this as a landmark moment for IIN.

“This tie-up would give IIN students additional exposure. This learning experience would be valuable. They’re going to learn about cutting edge technology. And best part would be they don’t have to pay any extra fees for the same,” IIN director assured.

However IIN critics aren’t fully convinced about this setup. They have cast doubts on how this arrangement would exactly work. One of the main issues that’s being raised is that Idea is GSM network where as Sprint is using CDMA technology and thus how the integration would work.

“As expected, this thought hasn’t crossed the brains of IIN students,” said an expert.

Sources have told Faking News that IIN is working on more tie-ups. Vodafone was also very keen to join this for UK region. But considering how Vodafone’s India subsidiary is direct rival of Idea, IIN decided not to engage with them. Instead other British operators like O2 are negotiating with IIN. There are indications that German Telecom giant T- Mobile would also join this arrangement very soon.

Idea has officially declined to comment on these rumours. They have said students should wait for official announcements from IIN. If all these tie-ups go ahead, IIN students can look forward to new things for sure.
