Mumbai: An atmosphere of utmost tension and confusion ensued at Times Now’s Newshour studios after chief anchor Arnab Goswami cancelled the night’s debate just few minutes prior to the recording. Mr. Goswami apparently got seizures just after reading Smriti Irani’s name on the panel list. He immediately booked air tickets for Singapore citing a personal emergency and left for the airport even without any hand baggage.
Senior cameraman for Newshour show, Mr. Rocky Jagdeesh provided more details to our reporter. “Me and my boys were almost ready, all the light work was also checked. Lady camerapersons had also got their makeup done. Debate panelists had not come to the studios as yet. Then Arnab sir stormed into the studios and whole set got quiet as usual. He then started rehearsing for the show by loudly screaming out each panelist’s name and posing a question.”
Rocky then showed us an unreleased footage of Mr. Arnab rehearsing:
“Mr. Sanjay Jha, you sir, have written a letter to HRD and the nation wants to know why? … Now I will come to Miss Lekhika, madam you screamed on my studios last time, what do you have to say today? And now over to HRD minister Smriti Irani, madam can you please … wait is Smriti Irani coming to the show? … is she? Oh God, why the hell was I not told? Where is the panel selector? .. Shaym ji … Shyam ji .. kya kar rahe? Abhi Smriti Irani kyon? What do you mean last minute change? You did not see her in parliament yesterday? Are you totally nuts? Why did you call her? Tell me Shyam ji, the nation wants to know, the nation wants to know. Damn I am out of here. I am going to my Mausa ji’s village in Singapore, he is not well it seems.”
Rocky then told us that just after this heated monologue Arnab quickly booked air tickets through his cellphone, called a cab and left the studios in a jiffy. He now plans to stay in Singapore for a few days until things calm down back home. It is also being rumored that Arnab has instructed the topic-selection team at Newshour to not take up any education or HRD related issues for next few months
