Mumbai Indians’ playing 11 to swap positions with their coaching staff

Mumbai. Having lost their first 2 games in IPL, Mumbai Indians today announced exchange in positions of their playing 11 and coaching staff.

With this radical change in their strategy, Mumbai Indians now hopes to turn the tide around in remaining games of the season.

“Henceforth our coaching staff would be taking the field to play the games, while our playing 11 would coach them,” Prakash Iyer, MI CEO declared.

Both happy to be back.

Both happy to be back.

“The likes of Sachin, Shane Bond, Ponting, Jonty Rhodes etc can walk into any cricket team as first choice players and here they were warming benches as if they were Stuart Binny or something,” he further went on to justify the decision taken by MI management.

“Also having already played hell lot of IPL, I don’t think we can find a more experienced coaching staff than our current playing 11,” he concluded.

However sources tell Faking News that prior to taking this decision, MI management had also considered taking Harbhajan Singh in the coaching staff, before better sense prevailed.

“The way Bhajji was hitting, we thought his right place was in coaching staff. And that’s when it struck the management that we probably are the only team across all sports team to have a more talented coaching staff than the playing 11,” revealed a source close to team’s co-owner Akash Ambani.

“That is only if you take super talented Rohit Sharma out of the equation,” the source though quickly added.

Meanwhile this dramatic change in strategy has received thumbs up from MI fans.

“I would often go to the Mumbai Indians game only for those 5 seconds when they showed legends helplessly sitting in the dugout. I am glad now they will be on field,” a fan told Faking News.
