Suraj Barjatya’s latest film, Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (PRDP) has opened to packed houses across India and smashed records on its way to 100 Crores during the first weekend. Though most of the critics are giving the credit to Salman Khan’s star power, actor Armaan Kohli is seeing it as his personal triumph.
Armaan Kohli who has acted in superhits like Aulad Ke Dushman, Qahar and Jaani Dushman has appeared in a Bollywood film after a long gap and is delighted with the success.
Addressing the media at a success party, Mr Kohli announced that buoyed by the success of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, he will be making the sequel to his highly acclaimed film, Jaani Dushman. Mr Kohli said, “I think it is the right time for me to capitalize on my success and reintroduce Kapil, Jaani Dushman’s epic hero. Everyone calls Jaani Dushman a classic. I know it is mental to make sequel of a classic like that but I am not scared of mental, as I proved by staying inside Bigg Boss house. I am going to make a sequel better than the original film.”
“Last time I only had around 500 supporting actors but this time I am going all out and hiring everyone in Bollywood as a supporting actor. Of course Salman Bhai will be a co-lead and not a supporting actor because he was lucky for me in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”, Mr Kohli added.
Jaani Dushman, for the few who don’t know, was one of the best comedy films ever made in the history of Indian film industry. Some rate it even higher than films like Golmaal, Padosan, Andaz Apna Apna and Hera Pheri.
As per sources, Mr Armaan Kohli will keep everything in Jaani Dushman 2 similar to PRDP for good luck. He even plans to have trailer of SRK’s next film Fan played at the start just like Dilwale trailer played before PRDP. When we asked Mr Kohli whether he plans to have a script too, he laughed at us and said, “Didn’t I tell you that Salman Bhai is there in this film? Ek myaan me do talwaar nahi ho sakti.”
Meanwhile, after Armaan Kohli’s announcement that he will hire every active Bollywood actor for a role, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor and Ranvir Singh have announced their retirement from films.
While Armaan Kohli was busy celebrating the success of PRDP and planning his own film, some other co-stars weren’t in a happy situation after the film’s blockbuster success. CBI has launched an enquiry to find out how a film starring Sonam Kapoor could go on to break all Bollywood records.
