Mumbai: After the government went back on its order to block adult porn sites, many ISP’s are planning to recruit additional manpower to filter and approve specific pornographic content and leading the race of applicants are 2 lakh engineers. Some of whom are from the top engineering colleges of the country.
Speaking to Faking News, a senior HR Manager from Hairtel said, “We have received instructions from the government to filter out child and revenge porn and we are taking it seriously. Our current workforce is already stretched. So we have decided to ramp up our workforce to take care of additional work of filtering content.”
“We are planning to hire ‘Filter Managers’ to do the job. Their primary responsibility will be to seek and filter specific pornographic content,” he added.
Long serpentine queues of prospective candidates were seen outside offices of ISP’s. Majority of the candidates had engineering background and some even working in top IT companies.
Our reporter spoke to one such candidate who was a fresh engineering graduate. He said, “Although I am fresher I have considerable experience on this topic, both theory and practical. Throughout my engineering life I have watched every genre of porn. I can identify a porn site just by looking at the first 3 letters of the URL. Also, I am open to night shift as such jobs are best performed at night.”
An HR Manager working with a leading ISP said, “In the last 2 days we have received more than 1 lakh applications for the job. Many of them are ready for pay cut also. Currently we have called 100 candidates and tests are being administered at our HR center where candidates were asked to identify pornographic URL’s.”
“We have got an overwhelming response. In my 30 years career as an HR manager I have not seen so much enthusiasm for any other profile. If all goes well we plan to close these positions by end of this week,” he said while reprimanding a candidate for checking the site content rather than filtering the URL.
