Manmohan Singh not picking up Putin’s call to clear his stand on Crimea problem

Delhi. Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is not picking up Russian Russian President Vladimir Putin’s telephonic call to avoid any discussion on Crimea problem.

“Although it’s a weird sounding foreign policy, but believe me, it’s just an out of the box way of handling critical issues,” said Salman Khurshid, Minister of the Ministry of External Affairs. “Manmohan Ji is a bit shy of talking, but it has nothing to do with this.”

Salman Khurshid rejected the charge that outgoing UPA government is avoiding to get its hand dirty by taking pro-Russia stand on Crimea issue as it would make India the ‘bad boy’ for the West.

“If you look at past 10 years, you would find that we are not afraid of getting our hand dirty,” Khurshid clarified. “As it’s an important issue, so, Manmohan Ji is just buying more time to think about it. He is a big thinker.”

However, if sources are to be believed, PM’s intentional move is being seen as a well thought plan ahead of general elections in India. “If Modi comes to power, choosing between Russia and west would be the first test of his 56 inch chest,” confirmed a source, “Manmohan Ji is a gun with silencer.”

Manmohan Singh has passed a message to Moscow that he is trying his best to decide what is right and what is wrong on Crimea crisis. “Prime Minister has even added this on his five meters long to-do list,” revealed a PMO official, “And please don’t confuse it with deliberate procrastination, it comes naturally to him.”

On the other hand, Vladimir Putin is leaving no stone unturned to contact Manmohan Singh to get the words out of his mouth.

After being ignored by Manmohan on official number, Putin even tried to call Manmohan on his personal mobile phone. But he failed miserably as Indian PM does not own a personal mobile phone.

Next, Putin is planning to give a surprise visit to Manmohan Singh and remind him of how Russia stood by India in difficult times in past. “He doesn’t want to make Manmohan Singh afraid, so he will go alone,” disclosed a Russian source.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi has suggested Putin to use RTI to know why Manmohan Singh is not picking up his call.
