New Delhi: Notice sent by Pepsi co. wishing to withdraw as the title sponsor of IPL has added to the injury of already mired down BCCI and with football’s growing fan following, the problems for our cricketers are just increasing with each passing day.
Many cricketers are worried about their future source of income and how they will have to end up in Big Boss’ house if these issues related to their employment are not addressed quickly.
But amid all troubles PM Modi ji has came as Knight in shining armor to rescue the princess BCCI president Shashank Manohar.
Yesterday, PM Modi tweeted, “IPL-9 will be directly sponsored by MGNREGA and IPL will be renamed as Mahatma Gandhi Indian Premier League.”
Further in Mann ki Baat that evening, he elaborated, “For years, under Congress raj, aam cricketers have been struggling to get selected in national team to earn ‘do waqt ki limelight’. It is time to end this ‘na-insafi’. We will provide employment to all retired, untalented and good for nothing cricketers for at least 100 days per year through Mahatma Gandhi Indian Premier League.”
This announcement brings relief to thousands of households of not only unemployed cricketers but also to those of ground staff, cheerleaders, commentators and bookies as well.
Meanwhile in Bihar, Shri Lalu Prasad has rejected this proposal saying, “This is just a lollypop to lure the youngsters.”
He further accused PM Modi of neglecting Bihar and demanded a ‘total bihari team’ to be introduced in MGIPL. Taking the cue from Lalu ji, Omar Abdullah has taken it one step further by asking for a Team for J&K with special status which allow their bowler to bowl underarm and to fix matches without giving any cuts to BCCI.
Meanwhile bookie community welcomed this announcement with both hands and they have already started preparing for upcoming IPL festival.
